Scrap Attack

Mostly I have been doing this...
Blackberry Jam

And this...

Corn Salsa

But I have managed to squeak in some late (and I mean laaaaate) night time to do this...

With inspiration from this book. I pulled all my green, blue and grey scraps and organized them in small, medium and large piles.

Then I trimmed and trimmed AND trimmed...

And turned those scraps into these...

Which, by the way, was very serene and relaxing sooo late in the quiet night.

Then  I played...

And played...

And played...

Don' you just love that moment when you go - OH YA! That's the one...

Now to baste and quilt this baby. Yay!!!

Hope you are all having lots of fun making your makes lately, I sure am enjoying cruising your blogs and catching up!!!

Linking up with WIP Wednesday over at Freshly Pieced.

Good Ol' Fashioned Strawberry Jam

Wash em'...

Cut em' up...

Add some sugar and let rest overnight to 'macerate'...

Pop em' in a pot, (add some lemon juice upon reaching boil) and BOIL hard till gel - about 20 minutes. Stir, stir, stir!

Ladle the hot jam into jars, boil jars in a canner for 10 minutes and voila...

So simple really, and so yummy!

In the summer, sewing time becomes jamming time. What have you been up to lately? Hope you all have been getting up to some summer time fun!!!

Ps. For those of you that may want to make your own:

8 Cups strawberries (or any berries)
      2 cups white sugar
      1/4 cup lemon juice

This is the 'old fashioned' type jam that does not use added pectin. I really like it because it uses a lot less sugar and tastes just like my Nona used to make (happiness in a jar)!
